We were delighted when Mel and Nick asked us to create 12 unique creatures for displays at their Wedding! All of the creatures are displayed in small glass domes, and are all based on themes and ideas which are personal to Mel and Nick, or the guests that will be there celebrating with them.

We wish them all the best on their big day!

BIRMINGHAM CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL SUMMER ‘GALLERY’ PROJECT

Here are some pictures from our workshops at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The Gallery Project is aimed at young people aged 11-18 years who have spent long periods of time in hospital. The project aims to provide young people with a fun and exciting opportunity to work with professional artists, learn new skills, develop their personal life skills (such as using public transport, communication etc) and engage in social activities where they can meet other young people who have similar experiences to their own.

Walsall Manor Hospital

We currently have an exhibition at Walsall Manor Hospital which has over 30 creatures on display!
The exhibition started on the 5th July, and runs until 26th September 2011 and is open 7 days a week.

Moseley Arts Trail 2011

Particle Article will be exhibiting as part of the 2011 Moseley Arts Trail, which runs from 9th-17th July. We will be exhibiting our work in Maison Mayci Cafe which is situated right in the heart of Moseley village, on the Alcester Road. The opening times of the cafe are Mon-Sat 8.30-6pm. Fri & Sat 6pm-late.

Boldmere School Creature Project

On June 14th 2011 myself and Claire paid a visit to Boldmere School where we spent the afternoon with class 4P designing imaginary creatures to be sold in a shop in Sutton Coldfield.

Old Joint Stock Theatre

OASIS UNIT WORKSHOPS

Claire ran a one day workshop earlier in the summer with a group of children and staff at the Children’s hospital. We designed creatures for the TIME CAPSULE project. The gentle creatures we created are based around the theme of journeys, one was created from a compass, the other two use maps and keys to help people find their way safely.

Birmingham Children's Hospital Oasis Unit Project

MAGICAL ORCHARD PROJECT

This collage was made by a group of teenagers with eating disorders.
Each tree in the orchard represents the persons strengths, and images which
make them feel positive. The collage is made entirely from recycled
materials.

Just So Festival Photos

Hundreds of families joined in the two day recycled workshop and had great fun at the Just So Festival last weekend. Here are some photos of the wonderful creatures that were created and hung from the trees. Click on the photo to enlarge it.

Birmingham Childrens Hospital Burns Unit Project Photos

These images show a commission for the Burns Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The finished piece will be displayed outside the unit entrance as a ‘time capsule’. The ideas were developed in workshops with children, staff and parents on the unit. One of the dragons is ‘Enzo’, the ward mascot. The pixies help Enzo with tasks on the ward, and are all created from items off the ward which help children to get better.
For example;

PLAYFUL SYRINGE PIXIE
This gentle creature helps children to take just the right amount of medicine. So helpful, it also likes to take temperatures.

Claire ran a workshop on an adolescent ward at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. These marvellous creatures will be trapped in a frame and displayed on the ward!
