Alice In Wonderland Exhibition

Today sees the opening of our new exhibition at Newcastle Borough Museum & Art Gallery, based in Staffordshire. The exhibition 'Telling Stories' features 5 artists, including ourselves, each taking a children's story to base our work on. Our artwork is based around Lewis Carroll's book 'Alice in Wonderland'
The exhibition is aimed at children, and features various interactive activities from all the artists. We have created a 'curiouser and curiouser' trail which encourages children to find hidden items such as keys and watches within our artworks and count these up. They can then fill in an entry form giving them a chance to win their very own Particle Article framed artwork of Alice!

'Telling Stories' is open from Saturday 24th July until the 5th September. Entry is free and the gallery address is below:

Newcastle Borough Museum & Art Gallery
Brampton Park
Newcastle-under-Lyme
Staffordshire
ST5 0QP

We also have a display of our work at the entrance to the gallery, in the 'Gifted Gallery' which includes a variety of creatures for sale.

Any questions please get in touch!

We hope you get a chance to go and see the exhibition before it closes in September!

Poole High School Project

In June 2010 I went down to Poole High School in Dorset where the pupils and I created our very own natural history display. We used recycled and found materials to make our own fantasy creatures which we then captured in glass jars. We created labels showing the names of the creatures, and short description of what the creature does.

Here are some images of just a few of the creatures. We used them to create a display in the school's reception area...more pictures will be posted soon!

A group of gifted and talented pupils in year 7, have set up an 'i-club' which is focusing on creativity, and creative thinking skills. The theme is leadership and we are making a series of fantastic creatures, this is our first creature, ‘Lightning Learner’ who represents intelligence. When all 5 creatures have been made they will live in a leader-ship! An animated film will be made with an animation artist, Steve Poultney, to bring the creatures and their stories to life!

Jigsaw

A piece of artwork created collaboratively by staff at Sandwell’s expanding Eating Disorder Service. The idea for the jigsaw evolved during team-building exercises and is created from pewter.
